Our story

In October 2019 we left the daily grind of life in Sydney behind to caravan around as much of the beautiful continent of Australia as we can - searching for a simpler yet more fulfilling lifestyle, one with plenty of family time, amazing experiences and a chance to pursue what makes us happiest.

So here we are:

Liz is the one behind the camera, our socials, website and travel planning.

With a background in the travel industry I've a desire to share and inspire people to get out there and experience all this amazing world has to offer. Since that first overseas trip after school, I’ve roamed 55 countries following my dreams to see the world that I’d only dreamt about whilst pouring over my grandmas old National Geographic magazines.

Dan is from whom the kids inherited their boundless energy - which comes in handy in his role as our Mr Fix-it and in his role teaching the kids all the important life skills like how to fish, to set up camp, drive a boat and conquer fears.

Then there are the boys, Phoenix and Beau who keep us on our toes, but spending more time with them while they are young was also a big reason behind choosing to do what we are.

When Dan and I met 20 years ago, I proclaimed I was packing my bags and buying a one way ticket to the UK with or without him. Less than 6 months later we were backpacking around Europe and never looked back, we worked hard and traveled the world harder!

​

After our kids hit the scene, life was a constant rush, Dan was working six days a week whilst I juggled part-time work and being project manager of the house, kids sports, activities and social lives. Travel was for a few weeks of the year and we realised we needed to prioritise what was truly important to us.

​

One day, I made a comment that our quality of life would be better if we packed up and traveled around Australia - to which Dan responded "I'd do that"......

Fast forward and here we are, counting continents and adventures, one at a time!
