Planning your full-time travels can be a full-time job itself - I'm serious!
So how do we map out all the amazing places we are going to see and stay?
Whilst searching online, reading Wikicamps reviews and checking out the local tourist offices helps - nothing beats seeing the experiences of other travelling families and getting some good old fashioned insider information and inspiration.
Here are a few accounts inspiring us right now
One Way Or Another (Instagram: @oneway_oranother)
Currently in Tasmania
Malissa, Hamish, Lincoln, and Eloise, are a Tasmanian family choosing a simpler life - one way or another.
Their posts always give me a bit of a chuckle as they share the honest side of traveling Australia with their two “wildlings”
They will begin travelling Australia again full-time in their @jaycoaustralia Starcraft caravan in July, which will be their third “lap”!!
They hope by sharing their adventures they can inspire you to get out there and explore, make more memories, and live life on your own terms.
Travelling Buckinghams (Instagram: travelling.buckinghams, Facebook & YouTube)
Currently in Tasmania
A camping loving family from Victoria who started their adventure in December 2019.
They love camping off grid and this year along with their 2 kids, have 2 cats Iggy and Champ as well as a dog Valor tagging along on their adventures!
Their kids are homeschooled and they all love the outback but most of all their favourite place is by the ocean (that’s not inhabited by salt water crocs - which we totally understand!)
These guys have beautiful visuals and loads of great videos on their YouTube channel
On the Waugh Path (Instagram: on_the_waugh_path , Facebook & YouTube)
Currently in Western Australia
On The Waugh Path had planned their adventure for more than 10 years and have now been on the road for 15 months and seen every state. They jam as many places and experiences as they can into their lives, spending quality time with their kids while teaching them as much as possible.
Their page has heaps of amazing photography, as well as stacks of info on places, experiences and campsites, plus tips and tricks about living on the road. They are all about living life to the fullest while exploring this amazing country.
They also bring you along on their journey through their YouTube channel as does their 9 y.o daughter Emerald (who was in Phoenix’s Distance Education class) with ‘Emerald’s Adventures - kids travel Australia’ where she loads short vids of places they’ve been, aimed at kids and families who have done, or who are dreaming about doing the lap.
Tribe gone travelling (Instagram: @tribegonetravelling & Facebook
Currently Gold Coast
They're a Gold Coast fam who packed up their lives in early 2020 to travel the world, escape the grind and spend more time with their little loves. Little did they know their global trip would coincide with a global pandemic and they’d end up landing in Western Australia and caravanning around Australia instead! They have no complaints though - it’s been the most incredible adventure together and they're loving exploring our own backyard and sharing stunning photography along the way.
4 Macs Makin Trax
Currently Western Australia
A family of four from the Gold Coast that decided life is too short to wait and so are fulfilling their Dream Lap of Oz!
They took off in Dec ‘19 finally arriving into WA after covid restrictions were released and have happily been seeing this beautiful state the last 5 months!
Travelling in a Jayco Eagle Outback camper and loving the off grid style camping and the freedom which it brings for their family to see our country while their kids are still little.
They love photography, travel and keepin it real on their page so like minded family travellers get the inspiration to get out there to explore also!!
